Grottes de Maxange

Descriptive

A stone’s throw from the Dordogne river, the Grotte de Maxange offers a rare diversity of concretions: stalactites, stalagmites, numerous aragonite panels covering entire walls, fistulas of extreme finesse, and above all a unique profusion of rare crystallizations called ” eccentric”, absolutely remarkable. The latter have the particularity of literally defying the laws of gravity.
Let yourself be surprised by this natural gem discovered in August 2000, which benefits from a carefully designed layout and sound and light adapted to the underground world. An experienced guide will take you into the mysteries of this unique site.
Easy access for all, Parking, bar, shop specializing in minerals, children’s play area.

New for 2024: photo exhibition and giant wooden games.
